I have to get a visa in the airport because I live in a country without a tajik embassy even though I'm an amcit. I'm trying to get an LOI but the travel agency isn't responding to my LOI requests. Has anyone gotten in the country with an airport visa recently without an LOI either private or tourist?

Tourist visa without LOI on arrival should not be a problem. Rules are flexible. Make sure your passport is from one of the countries eligible for a visa on arrival though - I'm guessing 'amcit' is US citizen?
