Hi

Does anybody know if there are any flights to Jalal-Abad or Kerben (Jalal-Abad Province) from either Bishkek or Osh?
Wikipedia entries of both airports claim that there are flights, however I could not find anything on the homepages of the respective airlines.

If there are flights, which days and where can I get the tickets?

Thanks
Michael

his summer I'm doing a two week volunteer project in Kyrgyzstan at Karakol. After the project I'm looking to do some trekking or easy mountaineering (or even climbing), I am looking for both advice and partners and do not intend to go with a group or a guide if it can be avoided.

Advice: any recommendations of good trekking routes in this area. Advice on what to take. Will I get away with just a pair of good approach shoes and a bivy bag or will I want boots and a tent? Will I be able to get…

Hello,
I'm looking to fly into Osh in late August/ early Sept and make my way down to Dushanbe via Batkan, Khojand etc with a bit of trekking in the Fan Mountains. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining up for at least part of the trip, or if you know of any problems crossing the border at Batken-Isfara. I'm a 42 year-old male from NZ, resident in the UK. Thanks!

I plan to cross the Torugart Pass, from Kyrgyzstan to Kashgar, somewhere between 10-15 July 2014. Anyone interested in sharing costs - please let me know.

My plan is to take the southern route from Dushanbe to Khorog and then the southern route from Khorog to Murgab. Murgab to Osh. 10 days with a few excursions along the way. If anybody is interested in this route and the timing is right, please contact me at kevinkrol@ymail.com or send a private message and we can…

Hi,

I'm planning on crossing the Irkenshtam border from Kashgar in China to Kyrgyzstan on 23rd June and have time to see a bit of the country until 3rd July. I've never been to Central Asia and don't really know much about Kyrgyzstan, so I'd be very thankful for tips on what's most interesting to see in 10 days? I was thinking Issyk Kul Lake, Osh and Bishkek, since I'm flying home from there anyway. I'd love to go on a hike or horse ride but probably won't have to time…
Also, I don't speak any…

Hello everyone,
I plan a trip to Kyrgystan and Tajikistan in September with a friend. We only have a month for it, so I'm trying to get an idea how long it takes to get from one place to another, in order to be able to plan our time there.
We will land in Bishkek and plan to travel to issyk kul and maybe also to song kul. We don't plan to do any multiday treks. We also plan to hire a 4X4 and a local driver. Does anyone have any idea how long the drive is from Bishkek to Issyk kul? or from…

Hi all!
Have anybody experienced a nice 4-10 day trek south of Issyk Kul lake? I mean south of Barskoon, Balykchy or going from Karakol to Naryn etc. I know that Petrov lake is not accessible, but possibly somewhere near with a similar nature (glacier vallyes, lakes .. )
Second area is Alamedin Pass - is it accessible from the south? Given going from south to Bishkek.
Thanks a lot,

Hi there! I am planning to come to KG on Jun 1st and stay two weeks. I plan to do a multiday trek to glcier valleys south of Karakol and Barksoon/Tamga village. Is it possible to just simply walk over there with a tent and sleeping bag? Or do i need a guide? I would prefer to have a guide with me, but no porter. Just for safety reason. All agencies i have contacted replied with very high prices listed in their offers. What I want is to just go and spend days in nature. Pay a guide is not a…
