Dear all,

i will have 8 days in Kyrgyzstan next August (regret for having only short time there ) and i am planning this itinerary

Day 1 : arrive in Bishkek by morning flight from Tashkent - sleep in Bishkek
Day 2 : marshurtka to Karakol, arrange guide for trek Karakol Valley to Arashan Valley via Ala Kol
Day 3 : Trek day 1 ,sleep in wooden camp
Day 4 : Trek day 2, sleep in altyn arashan
Day 5 : back to Ak Suu, mashrutka to Karakol, continue Marshurtka to Balkchy and Kochkor
Day 6 : taxi to…

Hi,
In lonely planet guide, I can't find anything about the transport by bus or taxi from Kochkor or Naryn to Osh.
Does anyone go on this route? Is this doable? Or maybe I have to go back to Bishkek and get taxi from there?

Im traveling in 4 days to Bishkek and had to change my entire trip due to a fully booked flight.
I need information about a visa for Usbekistan and Tajikistan. How long does it take if we apply in Bishkek for a visa for Usbekistan and Tajikistan? Can anybody give us some useful Information please as soon as possible?

I will be travelling to KY and I have learned that Italian as most EU citizens can get 60 days visa on arrival without LOI. Is this valid also for overland travel or just at airports? Thanks!

PS: If anyone happens to know if Argentinean citizens can also get visa on arrival... please let us know! My girlfriend is traveling on an ARG passport. Wikipedia says she can get 30 days on arrival, while other sources state she must apply on Embassies, no LOI needed...

We are travelling from Kashgar to Osh (hoping to use the public bus) in early July, but are seeing reports that the Irkeshtim pass has been temporarily closed because of protesters on the road. Does anyone have any information on this, because everything seems to be very unclear.

I am going with my friend from Bishkek to Xinjang in China and then to Tajikistan – from 1st till 18th of August. We are looking for fellow travellers to share costs. Our schedule is: 2-3.08 – travel from Bishkek through Osh and Irkeshtam to Kashgar, then 1 week in Xinjiang, then, about 11th August travel to Tajikistan through Sary Tash.

Looking to get to Khan Tengri base camp in mid August. Would like to do it independently (with my partner) if possible. Any advice on current state of paths, campsites etc.

I'm a 27 year-old male from the U.S. who's lived abroad (Spain, Thailand, Haiti) and has had plenty of hiking experience and done some overnight treks. I'm looking to hike south of Karakol and near Lake Song Kol, with a possible swing west to the Sary Chelek Reserve and/or Jalalabad.

I will be spending a few days in Issyk Kul region doing CBT trekking, home stays and/or yurt stays. Is a sleeping bag needed or could I get by with a sleeping bag liner? In other words, are blankets usually provided or should I count on no bedding material of any kind being available?
