Hi,
I am planning to spend the summer in Kyrgyzstan with a few friends. Is it possible to rent a small apartment or house with say 3 bedrooms or so for around 2 months? An ideal location would be around Lake Issyk-Kul but anywhere will be considered!
Any ideas of price for this sort of thing?

I think best for to stay in Bishkek. From Bishkek you can travel anywhere in Kyrgyz state. for example to Talas to Osh and Issuk-Kyl. You can rent an apartment in south of Bishkek from 250 USD for 2 bedroom apartment, 3 will be 300 USD. But if you want to stay in Issuk-Kyl for exaple Karakol it will be much cheaper. but they have problems with water supply so probably beter to rent a room in house.

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, staying in Bishkek would be an option, although if possible, we would like to stay in a more rural area close to the lake if we can. Do you happen to know if it is possible to rent perhaps an old boarding house in Cholpon-Ata or Karakol? That or as you suggested, renting a room in a house may be an option.

Ok I will ask my friends in Karakol, but it might to be rooms. I don't have any connections in Cholpon-Ata but I know it will be very expensive in summer.
