Hey,

I am in an international development student living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I have been accepted to do an internship in Kyrgyzstan, The organization is called CBT Kyrgyzstan http://www.cbtkyrgyzstan.kg/. I was just curious if anyone has ever used them or if you think its crazy to go into the mountains for 2 months? it seems like a great organization and I'm curious for the experience, but anyones input would be great.

Thx!

CBT is cool. Their services are reliable and they're generally helpful. I used them a couple times when i lived in Bishkek. They could work on their customer service, but it's no worse than anyone else in the region. It is Central Asia after all.

I've used CBT in Naryn and Kochkor.

Very good places to stay in Kochkor, stayed in the flat of one of the staff in Naryn. These were very good value.

Tours were a bit pricy for the car hire- however, you knew what you were to be charged and there were no add-ons. Maybe I could have got better value in the street, but I only speak English, and then probably would have been driving around with a nutter with a vodka bottle in one hand and the other on the steering wheel.

Hey,

This is great information thank you so much. Im not sure where in the country I would be working but generally I think I will stay away from the Vodka! Thanks again and if you have any more general advice on the country I would really appreciate it!

Hey just a bit more help, I found out that I will be in either in Karakol and/or Karakol and/or Kochkor anything of note I should know about the areas? Lonely planet makes them sound remote and a little dangerous after dark but ill get my grounding there? I might have a week or so vacation any interesting trips I should take?

As well after im done in Kyrgyzstan im hoping to visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan if I can get the Visa's. I was planning to then go from Bishkek to Almaty, Taraz, Tashkent Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, then fly back to Canada from Uzbekistan I don't think it's impossible right? As well ill probably do the hole trip by bus and in about 2.5 weeks is this enough time? Any help is really appreciated

Thanks
