I am planning to travel through parts of Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from mid May to Mid June, and I have a few specific questions that I will ask in the forum of each respective country

I have read all previous reports on obtaining a Chinese visa, and since my Multiple Entry (2x) Tourist Visa will be used up by the time I am arriving in Astana, Almaty and Bishkek a Single Entry Tourist Visa will be needed to re-enter and later exit China.

I understand that Ms Liu at 181 Toktogul St in Bishkek is an expert in obtaining visas, however, will that hold true for the holder of a German passport as well?

Can anyone give an up-to-date report on the Chinese visa situation in either Astana, Almaty or Bishkek?

Hi,

I obtained a Chinese visa in Bishkek about a year and a half ago. I used the travel agency Kyrgyz Concept (their main office is a 5-minute walk from the Chinese Consulate in Bishkek); they were very up-to-date with the Chinese visa situation (the policy had changed recently, and every other travel agency in town I visited was unaware of how to deal with the new situation), and seemed to be on the ball. Just an alternative you could check out along with Ms Liu. I don't think the German passport should matter at all, the trick is finding an agency with the right connections and crossing your fingers that the Chinese visa policy is friendly at the time you're there (ie. if any rioting breaks out in Xinjiang, getting a visa may be difficult or impossible). Good luck!
