I just saw this statement on my car rental confirmation:

Proof of both Loss Damage Waiver and Liability Insurance (up to 1 milion USD) are required to provide at the rental desk or these coverages must be purchased on site. Please also note that local renters mileage conditions may vary by location.>

I'm Swiss and we have lots of different insurance... Does anyone by any chance know what exactly we need to provide? Is a confirmation that we have a Swiss "HaftpflichtVersicherung"…

This July, my wife and I will be traveling to the Midwest for a two week long road trip. We'll be visiting family and friends for a couple of days, but mostly we'll be on our own. There are several Lonely Planet guides that cover this area. Rather than buy every one of the books (which would probably make LP happy), I'd like a recommendation for the best guide for the area.

Our tentative itinerary includes:
* Chicago (we'll be flying in and out as well as spending a couple days here)
*…

Hiya!

I am starting to plan a road trip across America, hopefully starting out around April 2020/2021. I am a UK resident and will be travelling with my boyfriend who is also a UK resident. At the moment we are at the bare bones of planning. We are currently thinking of starting the trip from new York and ending in Washington.

I would really appreciate some advise about renting a RV for this trip. I have been looking though a few websites for quotes and they vary widely. One website gave me a…

I already read up on the other LP post regarding this route.

My focus is more family oriented.
The basics: We do have 3 weeks to go from SF to Portland and back (we want to spend a few days in and around Portland with our friends from Bend). So we don't have to take a direct route there.

I would like to know things that we could do as a family on the way that our toddler (2 years and 4 months then) would enjoy. We love to be out in nature if the weather is decent, but we will most likely need…

I am a single 40 year old Male. No kids. Traveling solo to visit relatives in Bushnell. Because I lost 220 lbs I am now able to go on rides at universal and Disney.

Universal is a definite.

My question is in regards to Disney. Going to magic kingdom will be motivated by nostalgia (we went to Disney world and fort wilderness twice a year in my youth).

My question is as a 40 year old single guy with know kids, would the MK really appeal to me? Would I find it boring. Not exactly a thrill ride…

Hello everyone!
We're planning our first visit to the USA, and would love to hear your opinions. We will be for a week in Vermont in June 22-28 (work/conference).
Overall trip duration - about 3 weeks.
We will be 4 adults and a toddler 3 years of age.
We like nature, so I would really like to visit at last 1-2 of the famous national parks.

We are used to "busy" trips, as we did previous trips to Iceland and Norway when we visited several places in relatively a short time, and I personally do not…

Hello, my partner and I (both 35 years old) are trying to plan a month long road trip in September. We will be in Miami at the end of August but would like to then fly somewhere to start the road trip close to Yellowstone (not sure of the best place to fly to - we would need to be able to hire a car from there). From there we would need to get to San Francisco for a flight to New Zealand. In between we would like to visit national parks such as Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon and…
