could you see both Canyon du Chelly and Monument Valley comfortably in one (full) day? Or should I just pick one?
If both are doable what's a good loop (starting and ending in Gallup)?
I am coming to NYC for a week and found accomodation in Hobokken. Can any one advise if it is safe and easy to get to Times square from there?
Hi
We are looking at an apartment to rent for Christmas this year in New York. It is between 116th and 118th street in Harlem.
The agency assures us it is a safe enough area, as long as you arent out by yourself alone at night, but what city in the world would you be! Anyways, I just want to tap in to the hive mind and see what locals our regular travellers to NY think. I have only ever stayed in Greenwich area on previous visits. There are 8 of us staying in the same apartment, so numbers of…
It would have to be spectacular. I hate Houston like I hate no other place on the planet.
Going to be in Salt Lake City till next monday - I know of one good place, a mexican place called the red iguana. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks
I'm going to be in LA for about 3 days on a layover before I fly out for Asia. I've booked tickets to go on the Price is right and thats the only thing I really have planned and thats the only reason I've got the layover. What fun backpacker kinds of things are there to do in LA that wont break my budget? How easy is a day trip to mexico?
I am going to jazz fest (second weekend) --i was wondering if there were anypalces that need morning volunteers ( like 7-11 or 8-12 or so?) i know that sounds lame, but i thought if i could try to just do some cleaning up (if they still need that)
OK....in order to say I've been to all 50 states, I need to actually go to them. I'm left with North Dakota....is there any reason whatsoever to go there? Is there a good festival? Anything other than Fargo....the kitschier, the better? Thanks for any thoughts on North Dakota.
I've stayed in Hostels all over the world, but i have a buddy from California (hes a non-backpacker) that said the hostels in LA were full of homeless people and a great place to get robbed. I've heard that sort of thing on every trip I've gone on about how I'll probably die, but none the less, Are the Hostels in LA worth staying in or should I stay at motel 6 or something?
Thanks, Phil
I'm looking for a place to stay in Maui, preferably near Lahaina, but still centraly located to drive around (maybe in Olowalu?)
A clean room with private bathroom, for about 80 usd, is that possible (for august)?
I looked at the internet and a few guidebooks but the nice places where over 100 usd, and the cheap places did not have a private bathroom.
So I need some expert advice.
Chris from Belgium
