Hi,

Me and my wife are planning a rim to rim hike in late September. we are reasonably fit. I run 5 miles 4-5 days week, play squash. Same with her.Have hiked in Himalayas and Patagonia but this is our first desert hike. I have read on it and feel comfortable with going in to canyon. Since planning a night in canyon, I do not think it would be physically that bad for us.

My questions:

1 We will have our parents with us and they will stay at Trailer Village in RV, Which is at South Rim. I have…

hi all,

I wanted to get some advice please on travel and accommodation to Yellowstone NP. I will have to stay in a town outside of the park as I am on my own so hotels are too expensive and I don't have any camp equipment. Does anyone know if there is transport into Yellowstone such as trains, bus? I've looked at getting a rental car but it seems there aren't any hire stores in the towns.

thanks
Danni

My wife and I are planning to visit the Grand Canyon in either September or early October 2018. The trip will start flying out of Baltimore or Dulles to Tuscon where we will rent a car for the onward trip to the Grand Canyon making stops along the way at whatever attractions. We would like to stay in the park but all hotels are fully booked. The two places that are pretty much in our budget, Bright Angel Lodge and Masnik Lodge looked good price wise so I will keep trying with them…

Hello,
I am planning a 10-12 days trip to Big Island in June. I am not sure how to split my time there and where to settle our base to explore. We are planning to use Airbnb for lodging and rent a car of course. If you have any advice that would be great. We enjoy, swimming, snorkeling, scenery and taking our time to explore. We try to avoid big resorts complex. Thank you.

Hi,

I'm searching for a somewhat isolated 2-3 night backpacking trip in Virginia. Shenandoah National Park interests me, and I know the Appalachian Trail runs through there. I'm a little worried about that area being 'high volume' though, as I'm sure it's quite a popular area.

I'm hoping to find a good bit of isolation for my backpacking trip, with exposure to waterfalls, rivers, and streams. I figure I would reach out to the community for some recommendations, rather than just blindly…

If you are traveling to the Atlanta, Georgia area in the future, and you want to visit on the cheap consider kids eat free deals at local mom/pop establishments. I also recommend these kid friendly restaurants in and around the area if you are visiting. The Varsity and MAry Mac's is an Atlanta staple.

My friend and I are planning a road trip through the north american western coast. We would like to start from california, buy a second hand van, spend approximately one or two weeks transforming it in order to live in it. Do you think it is beyond reason ?

Hi,

I'm travelling to the US in November, arriving in New York City. I wanted to know which would be the best route, travelling between the following cities after leaving New York.

Boston, Chicago, Washington and Philadelphia.

After these cities, I'll be travelling to Florida, followed by New Orleans and Texas; departing from LA.

Thanks,
Carmelo
