This is a bit of a weird question...
I have some vouchers for United Airlines, and I want to use them to fly out from Calgary to Vancouver in August, but United doesn't service that route, so the closest I can get with my vouchers is to Seattle. How much of a headache will it be to fly from Calgary to Seattle, then on the same day take a bus back up to Vancouver?? and then 10 days later I want to bus it back to Seattle, then fly back to Calgary the same day. It sounds pretty ridiculous, but I would be getting to Vancouver and back for about 50 bucks total transport cost. Im sure customs will rip me apart with interrogation but it should be worth it. Should I be worried about anything else besides a loooong list of questions and suspicious eyes?? and what can I do to make it go as smooth as possible? If anyone has done anything similar, or has an idea, let me know! greatly appreciated!

You know, I usually laugh when people claim they have a "unique" situation. But this is a lot more unique than those.

Since you are Canadian, you will have an easier time than if you were British or Australian.
Personally, I'd say don't worry, but there is always a small chance you could be denied on your re-entry to the US.

Answer any questions truthfully. And do mention the situation with the vouchers, if the opportunity arises.

If you're a Canadian citizen with no other background issues I don't think US immigration officials will "rip me apart with interrogation". Just be honest and it should go smooth. Those folks have heard it all and your story wouldn't even crack the top ten of unbelievable.

United is an Air Canada partner. You shouldn't need to go through the US.

I'll add, as a Canadian, you do not need to worry about all that "onward ticket" stuff. You do not enter the US under the visa waiver program; you enter without a visa as a Candian citizen.

I doubt customs will even bat an eye. I've crossed to Vancouver for the day...no biggie.

Yeah You should Be OK..Been to The USA too many times to count Via Land.Air & Sea and never had any issues. We Canadians cross all the days for day trips so it wont be anything ODD..plus if you explain your situation im sure they will understand as its something that happens all the time
Since United is an Air Canada Partner I would look into perhaps using your credit on a United Flight operated on Air Canada..Practically all of the Calgary to Vancouver flights have a UNited Codeshare flight number on them along side their Air Canada flight number
Good Luck!

People fly in and out of US airports to get to Canada all the time because of the hue price differences. I don't think they would even think to ask a question about it. Detroit, Buffalo are two others that are convenient to Canada and cheaper. Not a big deal.
