I am travelling to NYC in May and am wondering if anyone can tell me of any good record stores (new or used)
also,
Does anyone know of any breweries in the city that have tours. Micro breweries preferably.

Brooklyn Brewery is probably the only "microbrewery" in the city that is a legitimate microbrewery and not just a restaurant that has their own unique drafts (i.e. Heartland Brewhouse or whatever that place is called, Chelsea Piers Brewery, etc.). google them -- i'm sure they have a website with tour info. there are, however, several bars known for their exhaustive and obscure beer offerings. try dba in the east village or Spuyten Duyvil in williamsburg (which is in walking distance from Brooklyn Brewery, if you want to make a rather tipsy day of it).
in terms of vinyl, i'm not sure. there are tons of record stores throughout the city (especially downtown and in trendy parts of brooklyn), but i'm not sure which ones are worth checking out.
