Hello,
I'm visiting San Francisco for a month, but I have to mail important documents with deadline after four days to Austin-Texas, I never post an email inside the united states, So can you please help me on the best way to send these documents, how much will it costs, and in how many days will it be delivered ?
Thanks

Look at the https://www.usps.com/ website - I'm sure they have registered mail and express services.

You can send the documents by US Mail or by a courier service such as Federal Express FedEx is a private company, not a government agency. If the address in Texas is a post office box, rather than a street address, the Post Office is the best choice.

You will find FedEx offices open on Saturday, and some are open Sunday. Some are even open 24 hours. Some post offices are open Saturdays, but none are open on Sunday or major public holidays

The cost will depend on the size and weight of the envelope and how fast you want it to get there. It will cost more if you want it to arrive the next day, as opposed to two days later. Saturday or Sunday delivery will cost more.

Both the Post Office and FedEx allow you to request that the person getting the letter sign for it, so you have proof that they got it. The Post Office can provide proof that you sent the letter, in case it is delayed. These services cost extra. Both the Post Office and FedEx have tracking, so you can see when the letter was delivered.

Fed Ex is the best of the best.

Then UPS

Then USPS

Fed Ex has the ability to reroute, and change delivery in real time, and their tracking and communication with the driver is light years ahead of UPS, and USPS has no ability at all, to call a driver.

Fed Ex will not deliver to a PO Box, as I found out earlier this year, not sure about UPS, Post Office will.

For the OP, UPS is another commercial shipping company. They are better known for shipping packages rather than letters, but they will deliver a letter. They also offer overnight and other fast delivery service, as well as tracking. UPS will deliver to a post office box, but will not guarantee delivery time.

USPS is United States Postal Service, the official mail delivery operation.

Ahh, a PO Box, then use USPS for sure, Priority Mail.
