Does anyone know of a ride board that a lot of people use to get rides from one city to another? I'm in the the United States.

In which country? If you are asking about the US, post your question in that branch. Those with local knowledge may not read this one.

Overall, Craiglist is the main conduit. You need to first find the city you are in, and then look for rides posted on the Rideshare.

Where are you going, between what areas, for transport, as many may be covered by public/private transport.

Adventure Travel to Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, South Africa, Morocco, Turkey, EU, USA National Parks, enjoying culture, cuisine, motorcycling, scuba diving, surfing, sailing, rafting, hiking, fishing, camping, nature, wildlife. Get a Guidebook, and get lost!

MegaBus is cheap but limited. I'm talking $1.00USD for the first ticket and fares climb by $5 each next rider till the published full fare. example-$25 NewYork to Philadelphia. Also has a trip/fare finder app for if you don't know where to go next it suggests.
Does go some of the same places Greyhound does for less without stations sometimes just a sign and a bench.

I've never used this site so have no firsthand experience but you could take a look (U.S. and Canada only):

https://www.ridesharing.com

I'd assume you need to be willing to split gas costs.
