Realistic driving schedule for Alaska?

Might want to keep in mind that some accommodations and gas stations etc along the Alaska Hwy close down in winter and don't tend to open up until around May 15th or so - the start of the tourist season. I've done the trip in late April and it was OK. It's not a bad idea to buy gas when you find it and be prepared to snooze in the car or camp if need be.
