Hello there everyone!!

Im going to the US for the forth time this summer. Last time i was there ws in 2005. After that i have been travelling alot. I wonder if there might be any problems to enter the US if you been to some specific countries. Im an photograper and been to places like North Korea, China, Palestine (and Israel) during the last years. Can there be any proboblems to to enter the US if I have stamps from these coutries in my passport?

Hope to get some help from you! All the best / Daniel in Sweden

Hi Daniel-

I've never heard of anyone having problems due to traveling to the countries you mentioned. They may ask you a few questions in customs, but that would be it.

Have a good trip-

Tara is probably right. "Problems" as in you being denied entry into the country I think would be very unlikely, but you may get asked questions or be hassled by immigration - anyone could be hassled by immigration, though my guess is that this too would be unlikely.

Thanks everyone for your fast and friendly answers. My concerns was mainly North Korea. Especially now with the political crisis. (Nuclear crisis) I hope things doesnt end up worse.

Thanks again guys.

This gets asked a lot here. You may be taken aside for a bit fo questioning. Just truthfully answer any questions about why you traveled to any of those places.

If you are planning to come in under the visa waiver program,. you will need to get pre-approval under ESTA. That will give you an idea if your name is unfortunately on some list.

The US does not deny entry based on foreign stamps alone.

Expects questions, answer truthfully.

They may ask you a few questions in customs, but that would be it.

#1, "customs" won't care--it's at immigrations where the questions will be asked. Do not confuse the two--the former is interested in what you are bringing, while the latter is interested in why you are coming.
