I'm flying to Anchorage, Alaska in August and staying for just 5 days. Trying to decide what to do in Seward. We are there for at least one full day, maybe 1.5 days. Everything I've read suggests the cruises. I am from the Seattle area and grew up boating a lot with my family. I'm worried the cruises might be a bit underwhelming for how expensive they are. I've seen orcas, whales, etc down here. Not that I wouldn't want to see them again, but don't want to pay $200 to do it. We don't have many glaciers down here, so that would be awesome to see. Also no puffin or grizzlies. But from my understanding, only the most expensive day cruises get to see those because they are far away. Am I wrong? Suggestions for someone from the PNW??
Some other things to note about our trip: We are heading down to Homer the day before to do a fishing tour. We're going to be in a motorhome and plan to stop a lot throughout the 5-day trip at national parks, viewpoints, etc including the Exit Glacier near Seward.
