This looks like a pretty efficient way to get around the midwest if budget a concern. Anyone use them? If they're decent and reliable, (or not so), I'll post them in the FAQ.

Here's an article I just read on CNN

And their official site: http://www.megabus.com/us/

Yep, we've taken Megabus from Cleveland to Chicago for, let's see, three times. And in fact we're doing the same thing tomorrow morning. We've found it decent, inexpensive and reliable --- much better than Greyhound, by far, on all accounts. It feels safe, with lots of young travelers/students and a few older people. They've been a little late getting into Chicago, based on the construction and traffic inbound. Almost consistently enough late (30-45 minutes) that they should adjust their schedules to reflect. The pickup location (with easy access to the Metra and other public transit) in Chicago is staffed by an employee who checks you in and directs you to the bus.

The route map looks just a bit like what you'd imagine a Midwest high-speed rail network to be. I can't imagine them setting up a service in Florida, since we don't have decent local mass transit to feed into the intercity buses, except maybe with the rail link from Miami to West Palm Beach. Maybe WPB to Orlando?

Megabus is a subsidiary of Coach USA, probably the largest charter bus company in the US It is not a small start-up although sometimes their performance looks like it.

Having said that, Megabus is a huge improvement over Greyhound.

I'm going to be in Chicago most of next week on business. Too bad I won't have free time, otherwise I'd take the bus somewhere just to see how it compares to the Chinatown buses on the east coast.
