Hi,
In March this year I had booked a multicities itinerary at www.cheapoair.com and two routes were -
1. AUH-FRA-DFW-GUA (with airport transit in Frankfurt FRA, US immigration in Dallas DFW) and
2. LIM-MIA-MXP-AUH (with US immigration in Miami MIA, airport transit in Milan MXP).
AUH-FRA and MXP-AUH sectors were with Etihad airways and remaining with American Airlines. I obtained print out from Etihad airways websites which showed all sectors. AA website too showed all sectors.
However when I went to Abu Dhabi airport I was denied boarding because FRA-DFW-GUA sectors were missing from Etihad system. Etihad staff told me to contact AA and when I contacted AA it asked me to contact Etihad again. Both airlines blamed each other. AA even refused their fault and declined me any refund.
Same day I booked AUH-AMS-PTY-GUA and LIM-CDG-AUH with KLM for next day and had no problems of travelling.
In between cheapoair.com informed me that AA did not pass their sectors to Etihad.
After more than 2 months AA has finally agreed (cheapoair.com was in touch with AA) to give me 'Future Credit' which means I have to go for same routes. I have no reason to visit Guatemala and Peru again. I paid more than US $ 1600 for whole itinerary and I am afraid I will be asked to pay more.
So what should I do now ? I am travelling for last many years but never faced such issue before.
Thank you in advance.
