We're going to New York from 19th - 27th March and would like to see a Knicks game.

We've tried to look at ticketmaster.com, but they only have rather expensive tickets for the days we're there. We've found some cheaper tickets on other websites, but they charge huge delivery fees, as we're based in the UK.

Would any of you know whether we would be able to buy reasonably priced tickets when we get to New York instead of buying them over the internet? Or do they often sell out well in advance of the games.

We've found some quite cheap tickets on stubhub.com. But it looks as if you can only purchase from their website if you live in the US, as they won't accept a non-US address, when registering.

Also, we found some tickets on us.lastminute.com, where it states that they can be e-mailed rather than shipped. But when trying to purchase it doesn't give an option of e-mail, but only shipping (and a $39.00 fee for that).

We would really appreciate some help and advise on this..

Thanks a million guys...

Ticketmaster is the agency to get tickets from. Yes they are that expensive. You can try at the MSG box office when you get here. But you're not going to find any "discount" tickets for a sporting event. They don't exist.

I bought some at stubhub recently and had them sent to the hotel where we were staying in LA. No problems at all and they were waiting for us when they arrived.
Another alternative is to buy them "willcall" on ticketmaster and pick them up just before the game.

Try emaling ( or calling) stub hub to see if you can get them by phone when you get to the USA.

Sometimes all Ticketmaster has is the most expensive tickets, the others having been sold. Meaning that tickets are $30-$800, and all TM has is the $500-$800 ones, whereas stub hub might have a $60 ticket for $100.

Hi went to the MSG to get ticket for the knicks yesturday for this tues 20th. Didn't get 2 tickets sitting together but one behind the other. quoted $60 each but when I said I was a student and showed ID got both at $25 each. RESULT!!! I did look at the internet before I left the UK but thought I'd but them here. It worked out good. However at first he said the only tickets available together were $340 each.
So depends if you want to take a chance. Good luck!

What is the attraction with the Knicks?? I would recommend trying to get tickets for the Nets who play across the river in New Jersey. Jason Kidd and Vince Carter are two of the better players in the league. The Knicks may be overachieving a little but they still are dog***t.

craigslist is a good idea as the dates get closer.

ticket holders have stuff come up and gotta unload them. Usually can get some at face value (and seeing how bad the Knicks are, this is entirely possible) on the days before the game.
