I was surfing the Lonely Planet website and found this interesting tip for Chicago on the Bluelist (by leenatrivedi23):

Get breakfast at the always packed Orange in Boystown, where you can eat fruit sushi, jelly doughnut pancakes, and a great green eggs and ham. Such creative food, you'd think a bunch of four year olds with great cooking skills run the restaurant.

Honestly, Orange is going WAY down hill.
Dale Levitski was the original chef and he has left and so has the quality.
Charlie Trotters in pajamas is what Orange used to be considered.
I'd go to Bongo Room instead.

A lot of people love Bongo Room, but I happen to find it really overrated. I love Orange -- be sure to try the Frooshi (fruit sushi. It's great, trust me). I don't know if they opened a Harrison location but I've been to the one on Clark. The cross street is Belmont. Yum.
The classic phenomenal brunch place in Chicago is Walker Bros. They have a few locations. It's not as weird as Orange but it is just a spectacular meal no matter what you order. Try the house classics for a real treat -- the apple pancake is like nothing you've ever experienced. I love the Danish Garden as well. For first-timers, both of those are must-orders.
If you like fun restaurants, check out Kitsch'n on Roscoe as well. Really great fun, wacky food with retro themes. Twinkie Tiramisu, Brownie batter, Kool-Aid cocktails. Great decor. Board games. Good time. They are located at Roscoe/Damen in a cute neighborhood.
