I still think that if Clark Kent pays taxes and votes (apparently) then he must be a citizen, particularly if he was properly adopted by his parents.

The fact the poster is on a travel forum appealing his dilemma and not consulting a legal expert on the matters, what can you expect, as others here have tried in vain to offer the best advice they can, with the info they have at hand, are by no means experts in the field of immigration, but gracious and considerate people trying to explain and advise as best they can. What more do you want?

Considering the majority of the worlds population cant even access a Passport much less immigrate to a new country, your situation is rather positive in all respects, and your attitude, is negative.

Whatever happens, one can only hope that the Canadian health care system promptly provides the necessary personality transplant. It's a life or death situation (my life, the OP's death.)

By the way, if the OP is legit, and he's American, then he should be filing tax returns with the IRS as an expat.

+The Acts or Conditions include:

I have not, since acquiring United States citizenship, been naturalized as a citizen of a foreign state; taken an oath or made an affirmation or other formal declaration of allegiance to a foreign state; entered or served in the armed forces of a foreign state; accepted or performed the duties of any office, post, or employment under the government of a foreign state or political subdivision thereof;+

Vinny--

This is the oath for a first time US passport. I cannot say this oath and be truthful. If I do, two things will happen: One is that I will be lying,,, and Two, if I am not entirely lying, it is tantamount to renouncing my Canadian citizenship.

I have been considerate and, on the whole, courteous to those that are the same. I am not looking for someone to convince me which course to take, that is my decision and has nothing to do with what you consider to be proper. And I have no need to be grateful because "there are starving kids in India". I have a passport and citizenship, thank you very much. I am grateful, however, in the help in being able to formulate and articulate the particulars of my case considering the typical American attitude and expectation. Since I will be interacting with Americans in an official manner, it is invaluable to know how their head spins.

If you're not a troll, then you're a nutjob.

You've already got the answer -- either renounce your US citizenship or else get a US passport. Those are your only choices.

Now, get the fark over yourself, stop sounding like a neurotic who doesn't take his meds as prescribed, and move on.

This is a burden since I already fulfill the obligations of my citizenship. To reaffirm my (other) supposed US citizenship with an explicit oath of allegiance I would open the door to US obligations, going back God only knows. This would be another consideration if I do decide to conform to DHS orders. It really comes down to the wording of the oath, and if they will accept my amendments to it...

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. But if you are required to file tax returns but are not filing them, then you are violating US federal law.

Bullshit. You are required to do whatever it is that you obliged to do as a US citizen irrespective of whether you get a US passport.

This can't be good for Canada. You make it sound like they'll take anybody.

#113 -- He can't vote legally unless he's a citizen, certainly (with very limited exceptions, such as in local elections in Takoma Park, MD). But don't children adopted from overseas or other planets have to be naturalized?

Illegal aliens pay lots of taxes.

As was said, you are in no position to dictate my choices nor are you a legal expert. I may be frustrated like you, but since I dont take meds I handle it with a level head,,, and have no need to insult.
