O lordy, the Whale... Yup, did that one too. The 'patio' was sort of a smallish pocket space between the buildings, as I recall?
Definitely the right outdoor spot ... full of overflowing ashtrays, dead beer glasses, and the detritus of lots of seafood and fries. Just the way I like my pubs!

Ashtrays? They must have upgraded. There wasn't but a couple of rusty buckets and beat-up plastic chairs set about the gravel, as I remember it. Dead glasses and bottles, yes. Lots. Worked just fine for us.
Ah, I can see by a recent pix that they've since put some posh on that patio.

Yes, that's about right from my 2013 memory ... I was using "ashtrays" very loosely!
