I've heard that in order to get onto the beach in Punta Norte on Peninsula Valdes, you need a permit. Is it possible for an individual/student to obtain one of these? I'm a biology student in the US, and would be nothing but respectful and awed by the surroundings there. Is this possible? Who would I contact to even find out? Thanks,
patrick
Hola,
I traveled around Southamerica for one year and now I'm closing to the end ...
Therefor my beloved travel companion is for sale:
Its a Jeep Wagoneer - Year 1978 (old but very tough/robust) - 4x4 - gasoline and natural gas - its big enough to sleep in the back!
You can see a picture of it here - in the altiplano in Bolivia!
Its registered in Bolivia, so its only suitable for people with time who want to go to or pass through Bolivia!
The price is just 1500 US$ - because I don't have much time…
I'm looking for place to stay in Pucon in March for two days ( not to expensive),
and how to get from Pucon to Bariloche? We want to take a bus traveling by night... Is it possible to catch bus from Pucon?( company, price)
Thank you.
Hello all!
Wanted to know if a flight coming in from Mendoza would use the same airport (EZE) as the international flights. Need to know if I should be scheduling extra time to get between airports for my flight home.
If it's not the same airport, about how much time should I save to get between them?
Thanks!!
I want to do a day of cycling from Colonia out into the more rural areas. I'm thinkin 50 miles/80 km, give or take, is about what I'd like to do. Thus, I'd like to know a couple things.
1. Are there decent bike rentals in Colonia?
2. Is it relatively safe to be riding on Uruguay roads?
3. Is the terrain outside of Colonia hilly or flat, windy or mild?
4. Anyone done a day ride like this before and have a route to suggest?
Many thanks to all who reply!!
Hey All
Am entering Chile in about a week overland from Argentina, which I know is no probs with a tourist card seeing as I'm Aussie.
However will be returning to Chile from Bolivia near the end of April by plane but will basically be staying in the airport until later that day when I get a flight home to Australia via NZ. This is not a connecting flight though and am therefore assuming I will have to clear immigration to get my bags and then get back on my flight out later that day?
Does anyone…
Hi All -
I'm planning a trip to Ecuador Peru and Bolivia for about three months this spring and would like to spend a few weeks at a spanish school that has a focus or specialization in teaching students about the political/economic and social realities of life in these places, preferably through a social justice lens (similar to Proyecto Linguistico Quetzelteco de Espanol in Xela, Guatemala if you know it....). Is anyone familair with places that fit this description? Thanks so much!
Hey...
After saving over the last year I have accumulated a decent amount of cash (£) over £3000. I am planning to travel around SA inc Ven, Col, Ecu, Peru, Chile, Arg, Boliv, Brazil....
But I am unsure of the best way to 'carry' this money, whether to use travellers cheques & put money on a credit card i.e american express or whether there are far better ways to do it...
If you hav travelled from the U.K. (or else where if applicable) what methods have you found best for your money in SA?
All help…

Hola a todos :
I´ll be arriving in buenos aires at 10:30pm on a saturday (03/03/06), was wondering, how easy is to get the 86 bus into town at that time? or should I just bite it and take the Manuel tienda leon bus? It´ll be 3 of us arriving from Santiago this time around, so I was thinking maybe taking a taxi would be more cost effective... Hopefully someone knows the best answer to this, keep in mind I´ve been to Buenos aires before but I have only taken the 86 because its´s cheaper…
