I'm going to be in Colombia for a couple of months (and South America for another 4) and am going to get regular travel insurance for it, but there's one hostel I really want to go to that's in a blanket "advise against all unnecessary travel" area that I need to pass through Buenaventura to get to, and regular travel insurance won't cover it due to advisories. I've done my research and my contact with Buenaventura will be minimal and in very central tourist areas, and the area my hostel is in…

I am just starting to plan this trip. Looking to spend 3 days or more taking photos in Torres De Paine or any spots generally in Patagonia. I am flexible to any areas of Argentina- Chile since nothing is booked. Can I drive into these photogenic spots or is it best to hire a guide and perhaps do some trekking. I am more into biking than Trekking. I will have a car and bike (Or guided trip depending on your response). How is access in mid November? Should I rent a car and explore on my…

Accordion festival in Barrancabermeja. If someone wants to join me, I will leave my office on October 7 very early. I have a pick up vehicle, we could stop in the middle of the road to explore velez and comtarra and we arrived on the 8th to Barrancabermeja. We can share the expenses and then you can give me a tip if you wish. We would return to Bogota on the 10th or 11th or you can follow other destinations.

I know it might be rainy but I have also read this might be the case mostly in the afternoons. If so, we might still book a holiday to Peru (the alternative is Tibet) but wanted to have views from fellow travellers.

thanks

Hi there,
My group of friends and I are looking to explore Torres Del Paine and to look at the highlights of the park. However we are working with an incredibly short amount of time and we wanted to see whether it was still possible. Here are the details of our trip to make things clearer:
- We arrive in Santiago on the 1st of January at 11:00.
- We have flight booked from Santiago to Argentina on the 5th of January at 12:00

I was hoping for a little clarity on whether we will still be able to see…

Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Argentina. I've mapped out about two weeks in Patagonia (El Calafate, Torres del Paine and El Chalten). I then plan to go back north to Buenos Aires and head to Chile via Cordoba and Mendoza.

I've heard that Bariloche is well worth visiting, but I'm not sure how to fit it in to the rest of my itinerary without going massively out of my way. I've looked at flights from El Calafate, but they seem very expensive and I'm not sure it's worth it for a few days.

Has anyone…

The domestic airline had to cancel all flights, starting immediately. Their bank accounts were frozen by the national customs authority in a dispute about import tax on some new planes they had purchased. Lack of access to their funds means they cannot pay for fuel and other expenses.
They don't know when or how they can solve this. At the moment, stranded passengers will be scrambling for other flight options, making it difficult to find seats on any flight at short notice.

Hi, I don't have the Chile visa and hence can't cross over to Chile. Is it possible to do
Bariloche - El Chalten - el calafate- Ushuaia overland without having to cross Chile?
