Hello!
Looking for advice on a trip with kids. Happy to organize myself. Price is a factor! Cruises look very expensive. Would love tips, best islands to visit, times of year to go, etc etc

My wife has informed me that Paraguay is the only country in the Western Hemishere that charges tourists for a tourist card. Is this true? We were planning to go to Paraguay in July 2019. The cost is $160 US dollars cash.

Hi, we are a family of 4 (2 kids aged 8 and 10), spending a total of 2 months in Colombia. We are making a big loop and are considering doing a tour of Guajira, and not sure if it’s worth it, time and money-wise. We will just have done the Ciudad Perdida trek, and another long organized trip sounds possibly intense/expensive. We are most interested in people and culture stuff, so though I’ve heard the landscape on Guajira is quite beautiful, that alone would not be enough of a reason for us to…

We just got tix from BA to El Calafate through Kayak.com, and the ticket says "no bags allowed." I'm assuming that means you have to pay extra for checked luggage (and perhaps carry-on as well?). Has anyone had experience with this? Anyone know if my assumption is correct and, if so, how much I would have to pay for luggage? I did notice that I could choose a higher-cost ticket through the airine's own web page, but it was like $300 more for two tickets! Kayak did not give us the option of…

Hey,

I'm travelling to Santiago for work next week and I have a full day and a half off before I fly home. I've seen Santiago before and was thinking of renting a car and driving to the mountains, national parks, or the coast, etc.

Since I only have a day and ideally don't want to drive all day where would be the must see places in that short amount of time?

I'm thinking amazing winding mountain roads, hillsides of cactus, amazing places of natural beauty. The more weird and wonderful the…

Got a question about getting from El C to the park. It sounds like buses from El C to Puerto Natales will take about five hours. So do you think it's feasible to catch the earliest bus in the morning from El Calafate, get to NT, catch the 2:30 bus to the park and then make the 6 p.m. (last) catamaran on Pehoe to make the Paine Grande refugio that night? If so, any idea what time that El C bus would leave? Does the PN bus to the park leave from the same station where the bus from El C to PN would…

Hello!

I am going on my first trip to Peru this June to visit friends who live in Trujillo. I would love to do some hiking in the mountains while in Peru. Any recommendations on mountain hikes (or guided treks!) that are accessible from Trujillo? I expect I would have to bus to another town away from the coast. What towns would be good starts for a mountain day hike? Any recommended treking companies that organize day trips?Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

My plan is to ride a bus from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. I see on the map that the road passes through Chile for over 100 km in the south of the trip. I can get a visa on arrival at Chile, according to advice on Smart Traveller (Australian website) but does that also include I can get a visa to pass through that part of Chile at the border ?
Thank you
