My brother and I are hoping to trek Roraima right before his wedding later in the summer but we're trying to cut down on as much time as possible getting to-and-from Santa Elena. The wedding is in San Cristobal.
Is there any way to cut back on travel between the two locations? To me there seems to be a whole lot of nothing and short of chartering our own Cessna I'm at a loss unless it involves just a regular series of buses.
I really hope someone has some advice. Thanks guys!
Hi All,
I have been living in Venezuela for over a year now and my gf and I are tired of taking taxi's and buses everywhere. Does anyone know what the laws are regarding buying and registering a car here on regular tourist visa? its bad enough that cars cost double here then anywhere else as all manufacturing plants closed long ago (due to not having access to dollars to buy parts) also will my out of country license work here or will I need a special permit to drive?
thanks for any advice.

HEY EVERYBODY,
I'm currently in Manaus, Brazil and taking a bus up to Boa Vista, and then from there I want to take a trip to Angel Falls. Does anyone know if El Dorado is the closest town to catch a tour to the falls? AND, does anyone know if a tour is mandatory in the park? Thanks for the info. Happy trails ,emily
I heart that one week ago it was possible to go to the angel falls
has anybody there the last days
will be there in 2-3 days
thanks for information
I'm off to Venezuela for two weeks with my wife.
We plan to do:
Ciudad Bolivar
Angel Falls
Merida
Coro
Los roques (3 nights)
I think we may have to spend a night in Caracas at some point too. I had a few questions:
What is a realistic budget in US$? Flights are booked already and we were thinking of taking around $1000 each. Would that be enough? Or should we be taking a little more? We plan to stay in Posadas and travel by bus. neither of us drink alcohol and we won't be going to any…
Am looking to cross border from Brazil into Venezuela and do a Roraima trek from Santa Elena, and a seperate Angel falls trek(as i have heard this is much cheaper).
Can anyone tell me if there are flights from Santa Elena to Canaima? Or do I have to organise this as part of a tour?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I´m in search of the best party hostels in Venezuela, tell me your opinion please..
Tried to do a tour to kavanayen and salto aponwao and was informed that the road is currently off limits to tourists. Other areas are also affected although I´m not sure where. I spoke to 2 different tour operators about this and they both confirmed it. Roraima tours and any sights along the highway seem to be fine. I was told the reason is because easter is approaching and last year the area was flooded with tourists on 4x4´s who went offroading and tore up the landscape. Not sure when this ban…
Hello
I'm flying into Venezuela on June 12th and am concerned about a couple of things..if anyone can help, that'd much appreciated.
I'm going to be travelling alone, which I've never done before, and don't speak any Spanish. Is it going to be safe? Also is it going to be very expensive being a lone traveller?
Also, I've only previously travelled in SE Asia where there were a lot of other travellers in hostels etc. who you could tag along with ... I get the impression…
