Hey,
I am very interested in visiting the Yanomami people, I wonder if anyone has traveled recently in southern Venezuela, and what are the realities of independent travel in that region.
I arrive in Caracas in a few days, have family and friends there, but never visited the country before. Spanish is not a problem. Unafraid of rough travel.
I would appreciate if anyone has first-hand accounts of visiting tribes along Orinoco in Venezuela.

I will be in Venezuela in forthcoming February and I would like to visit Curacao for the carnival. Does anybody know how much a return flight costs?

Can I buy the ticket on the net or better and cheaper in a travel agency in Caracas or it would be late when I will be in Caracas? Any recommendation on both (internet and travel agency)?

Does anybody know a budget posada for staying in Willemstad? Shall I make a reservation for the period of carnival?

Hi there - I'm planning a trip to Venezuela with my girlfriend Dec. 20 - Jan. 9th. I'm doing this all a little last minute and am wondering if theres any chance of finding flights, lodging at Los Roques, and tours to the more popular destinations. My main interest is bird watching, my girlfriend, relaxation. I'm a fluent Spanish speaker, I'm hoping that will help, but am wondering if this late in the game I should focus on less popular destinations, or if theres a chance I can do what I want.

There has been much talk of this already, i know, but I need help anyway.
I am arriving to Caravas on the 23rd of December with 3 friends. We wish to immediately continue to Merida. There was talk of making an reservation in advance. Can you do it with all companies? Where can I get contact info? Is there an agency that could do it for me?

another Q: Since there are X-mas holidays, how does that affect bus schedules. Does transport function in that time? Can we get to Merida on the 24th??

I have returned from my trip to Venezuela and would like to point out a few things for people who may not be well aware of the situation there or who are still undecided about weither to go or not. Firstly i would like to state, that Venezuela is a beautiful country and is certainly worth visting providing a few things...

Lonely Planet recommends "Osprey Expeditions" as a good option for budget travellers?
Has anyone made experiences?
Might it be cheaper to book a tour in Ciudad Bolívar than in Caracas?
Would it be possible to do the tour for around 300 dollars??

My pals and I are going to visit Venezuela in January-February and we have a problem. We decided to go both to Canaima and to delta Orinoco, but we have only 6 days for them. Firstly we wanted to divide in 3/3, but our friends, who have returned recently told us that Canaima was fantastic and 3 days there is not enough. Besides, 4th day in Canaima is usually free. So now we thought about going to Canaima for 4 days and to Orinoco for 2 days. But I wonder if 2 days is enough…

does anybody know the details regarding luggage limitation while flying from Ciudad Bolivar to Canaima?
I know that it is 10 kg but got different opinions on:
- is it 10 kg including or excluding a handy luggage?
- what if my luggage is more heavy? Is it possible to pay for additional kg or not?
- if yes, how much is per kg?

Hi, my girlfriend (from puerto rico) & I are going to be in curacao for a while in December.
