Due to rubbish flight connections, I'm planning to spend the night at Caracas airport (either domestic or international) and I wondered if anyone knew if there was a 'secure' area to wait overnight? Or should I try and book a room at a hotel near the airport? My flight arrives about 9 or 10pm and the next one leaves at 8am.

Grateful to hear about anyone elses experiences or to receive any advice.

Me and my friend are travelling in Venezuela next February. We have done a lot of research to figure out the best way to get from Porlamar to Merida. Our intention has been to take a flight to Caracas and from there a bus-cama (Peli Express) to Merida. However I recently found out that LASER has commenced flights from Porlamar to Valencia, and going via Valencia could definitely save us some money and hassle (we want to avoid Caracas as much as possible).

We are arriving in Caracas Intl airport on Tuesday 29 Dec around 15hrs.

Do you think it is likely that we will be able to buy a overnight bus ticket to Merida on the same day or book a flight there?
I was told it gets quite busy around xmas/new year and that it is better to book in advance. The problem is that I have not found any way to book in advance!

I would be more than grateful for any suggestions or ideas!

I will arrive in Caracas from Porlamar on 27dec at 18h40 and have a short transit time of exactly 3h05, before my international flight out of Caracas at 21h45, but I was told the check-in of this flight will be closed at 20h30. My domestic carrier is Laser. Does someone know if this airline is reliable in terms of punctuality and if I will have enough time to catch my connecting flight ? It seems delays are common on domestic Venezuelan airlines.

I'm gonna be in Merida on Dec 28 - 29 (far too short I know) and would like to see some of the highlights around there. Pico Pan de Azucar seems amazing to me, but maybe you have other suggestions what not to miss. Plus, I'm travelling on my own, but most tours are offered for 2+ people only (unless you wanna pay double). So maybe anyone is already planning to do a trip on Dec 28-29 and don't mind me joining (and thus lowering costs).

I am coming in next week over Christmas for 5 days and would like to visit Los Roques and spend a few days in Mochima/ Isla Margarita. Basically looking for a day tour to Los Roques and round-trip bus tickets from Caracas to Puerto La Cruz and round-trip ferry tickets to Margarita from Puerto La Cruz. I have a question concerning Caracas airport. I have 2 hours 40 miniutes from the moment I leave the plane on an international flight arriving in Caracas. My next flight is a domestic one to Porlamar. I need to go through passport control, get a visa, grab my luggage and go to another, domestic check-in (I will not have my boarding pass). Do you think it is possible? I have a ticket on hold for purchase, so please, reply quick I will truly appreciate.

My husband and I would like to see Angel Falls. Although I would really like to make the ground trip, I am afraid that it would be too streneous for us. We are in our 70's and physically fit, but I would not like to take the chance for trekking in such a remote area.
