We are two teachers living in Mexico who are heading to Venezuela at Christmas for a friend's wedding on Isla Margarita. We are then heading down to Canaima and Roraima but the problem is we are trying to get there over Christmas. Our flight arrives back in Caracas from Margarita on December 24th and we have been told by our tour operator that Rutaca cannot guarantee their flight to Ciudad Bolivar on 24th so we may lose our money if we book it. He also tells us that flights from Porlamar to Ciudad Bolivar are full at high season. I wondered if anyone could give us any advice about travel over the Christmas period in Venezuela and whether there are night buses or other flights that go to Ciudad Bolivar / Canima from Caracas on December 24th. Does transportation shut down for several days at Christmas? any advice welcome Thanks
