Hi everybody!

I'm leaving for Venezuela in one week and will be there for 3 months. The last month I will travel by myself and I find it very confusing that there are so many tour operators, so I was wondering which tour operators you would recommend in Venezuela

I will probably see these things:

Pico Humboldt and Pico Bolivar (5 days)
White-water rafting
Paragliding
Mountainbiking?
El Relámpago de Catatumbo
Médanos de Coro
Chichiriviche
angel falls (3 days)
Los Llanos

thank you in advance

regards

Hola Borup,

Several agencies in Merida and Ciudad Bolivar. A few in Caracas.

By what you are looking to do I would say you could use Merida as a hub. I would actually suggest doing the things you want to do in the following order:

Pico Humboldt and Pico Bolivar (5 days)
White-water rafting
Paragliding
Mountainbiking?
El Relámpago de Catatumbo
Los Llanos

All these can be done from Merida. You could then get the bus to:
Médanos de Coro

and then onto:
Chichiriviche or Tucacas. Bus to Valencia or Maracay and the night bus to Ciudad Bolivar to do the angel falls (3 days).

Travel safe,

All the best,

Thomas

As I already posted in some other location - my choice for a Los Llanos tour is with Tony Martin. I was amased by the trip and by Tony himself. He is biologist, studied ornitology at Boston University, and he treats animals with great love and respect. He is the most experienced (and famous) guide there, and his trips include boat safari, jeep safaris, night safari, horse safari, pirania fishing etc. Everything that was promised was fulfilled. Toni owns now a new camp in Los Llanos, with a swiming pool!!! yes!, and the time we had there was the best from all in Venezuela. I can strongly recommend him: extremexpeditions@hotmail.com. The office of Extreme in Merida is just a few doors left from Guamanchi. Check this out: http://www.hosteltrail.com/extremexpeditions/
