I am planning a journey through Venezuela in the beggining of 2012, therefore I was wondering if someone could recommend budget/hotels/hostels in the cities of Cumaná; Puerto Cabello, Barinas and Playa Medina. Also, does anyone know if there is a comprehensive list of hostals/hotels in Venezuela on the internet, spanish is not a problem. Thanks.

I don't know whether this is comprehensive, but it might be a good start: www.hoteles.com.ve --> Lista por estados.

Cumaná is in Sucre, Pto. Cabello in Carabobo and Barinas, well, in Barinas.
