Is it worthwhile to visit Merida even though the teleferico is not working? What else is there to visit in that area?

"sail away from the safe harbor" like that.

Off course go to Merida. Is a nice town even when the telepheico is typically not working.

There are some nice places to adventure about near Merida.

there is some nice trekking in the area if you like mountains, it's a nice city too especially the temperature ... we stayed about 1 week in merida and surroundings and didnot even take the teleferico (it was working then)

Certainly! Merida is well worth it! And in addition to all the activities you can do there such as trekking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, paragliding and canyoning it is also the gateway to the Llanos and the amazing Catatumbo River and its unique Lightning display.

All the best,

I visited Merida last July and the teleferico was working then. I enjoyed the city, especially for the nice weather, and for a very much needed rest, after some tiring tours.

I also used Merida as a starting city for a Los Llanos 4-days tour.

I saw many tour agencies offering adventures sports tours and the tradicional Catatumbo Lightning tour.. we did not take them, but they seemed interesting...
