Hi,
within a month I will start my trip to Venezuela. At the end of the journey I'm planning to spend 4-5 days in Margarita and take one-day trip to Los Roques (first by plane then by catamaran). There are many offers in the internet however I'd prefer to pay cash at arrival rather than make bank tranfers to the unknown (moreover based on official US conversion rate). My plan is then to look for options when I'm already in Margarita. But tour operators warn me saying that it will be too late because flights must be booked in advance and there will be no chance to book any with such a short notice (2-3 days). Is it really true? Did anyone try it?

Regards from white Poland (one meter and more of snow everywhere...)

There is only one airline flying Margarita - Los Roques line: Línea Turística Aereotuy... its flight is usually sold out (booke in adavence).

Easier and possibly cheaper: fly from Margarita to Caracas ns connect a flight to Los Roques... two choices:

  • Aereotuy (more expensive)
  • Chapi air (cheaper)

More flight available from Caracas.

Consult a travel agent when arrived on Margarita.

In any case... book in advance.

Hi Bajonka,

What Hodunn says is right. Currently the only airline flying Margarita - Los Roques - Margarita is LTA (Linea Turistica Aerotuy) and flights get booked quickly since they only fly once a day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thurdays. Alternativley you could fly into Caracas and then connecto to Los Roques either with LTA, CHAPI, or SUNDANCE.

Travel safe,

All the best,
