Hi,

I posted a couple of months ago about getting a flight from the Caribbean to Venezuela and was wondering whether there had been any fresh ideas. I plan on landing in Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados, Tobago, Grenada or St Lucia in October with a view to going to Venezuela for six weeks before heading home. I know of the weekly ferry from Trinidad to Venezula and have checked prices with Caribbean Air and Copa. There appear to be several low price Venezuelan operators who fly to Porlamar but I've emailed them and they haven't got back to me. Does anyone know of the cheapest way to get to Caracas or Porlamar or even Cartagena from the Caribbean?

Thanks

I lived in Martinica(Martinique) 3 years and I used to fly to Venezuela with Avior Airlines. You can buy your fly online, but the site is in spanish and u need to bring the credit card that u used to buy the ticket with you just before taking the fly. Most of the year they fly only in tuesdays and saturdays, but in july and august the frecuency of flies is bigger( i don't remeber exactly). They fly from aruba and curaçao(and maybe port of spain) too, but i don't know the frecuencies. From martinica(fort de france) you can fly to caracas or in ,july and august to porlamar too. It's easy to arrive to martinique from france, canada, usa and even more from other caribean islands such as saint lucie, dominica(ferries, planes, air caraibes, air antilles express,liat,etc.).

Good luck.

From Jamaica to Caracas, Maracaibo or Cartagena, it might be COPA. Another option would be a flight from Jamaica to Curacao and a flight from Curacao to Caracas.
I don't know if LIAT flies between Granada/Barbados and Caracas anymore.
No flights from Tobago, need to get to Port of Spain before travelling to Venezuela.

The cheapest option from Porlamar to Caracas is by taking the Ferry from Porlamar to Puerto La Cruz and then bus from Puerto La Cruz to Caracas. From Cartagena take the bus to Maracaibo and from here to Caracas.

Travel Safe!

All the best,
