Dollar rate again and Caracas Airport to busterminal

It's easy to get 4 B for 1 dollar at the airport. (Nov 6)

The big problem is all the fake US$ at the airport. They always try to cheat you.

They try to do like this.

You want to change 200 US.
They give you 800 B.
You give them 200 US.
They want to count the 800 B again.
They keep 400 B and give you back 100 US (Fake US) because the don´t want to change that much.

A simple rule is: Never take a US$ back and always count the B before you give them our dollars.

I know at least 3 guy's that try this. It's easy to see if a dollar is fake, the year is 1999 and a real dollar you can't draw with a pen on. This guy's are very friendly and helpful. They could help you with tickets for Los Roques or anything else you need.

Since you have had so many answers I'll be brief. At the airport you'll be offered BsF 3.5 per US $. If you know someone who can offer you a better rate take it, but be skeptical. Many scams abound.

As for buses to Merida. The latest bus from Peli Express bus station, which is by far safe than La Bandera, departs at 09:00p.m. You can take a taxi straight from the airport to the bus station. You'll need to hurry though. Alternatively tou could depart from La Bandera, a public bus station, at 09:30p.m.
