Does anyone know a reasonably priced hotel or posada near Caracas airport? We're arriving form Barinas on Saturday by local bus at the Terminal de Autobus de Parque Central (all the luxury buses were full!) and leaving the country on Sunday afternoon.

Can anyone advise about getting a taxi safely from the bus terminal to the hotel as we understand we have to be very careful about taxis, etc?

There are many places to stay near the airport - I have not stayed there but if you find the right place just ask them to arrange the taxi.

Have a last minute splurge before you leave, stay at Eurobuilding Express Hotel, less than 10 minutes from the airport.
They have a shuttle bus to and from.

Eurobuilding is not cheap. Other cheaper options with airport shuttle are Hotel La Parada and Hotel Catimar. I prefer the first one, but if nothing else is available, Catimar could save your night.

Not so cheap not so expensive: Costa Real Suites.
