Are there any buses from Caracas or nearby towns to Puerto Colombia ...

As far as I remember you will have to take the bus from Caracas to Maracay and from there you will get a bus to Puerto Colombia. Not 100% sure though, but I think thats what I read in the LP cause I am considering to go there on Thursday myself.

yes, bus to maracay and then about 2.5 hrs to puerto columbia. The journey was one of my highlights!!!

The fastest way is to take a bus from Terminal la Bandera in Caracas to Maracay; cost last August BF 8.00 - buses leave every 20 - 30 minutes. Duration of the trip is usually under 2 hours but can take much longer if you hit a catastrophic traffic jam in Caracas. Not unusual because there have been frequent power outages recently.

The Choroni/ Puerto Colombia bus leaves every 30 minutes at the chaotic bus terminal in Maracay. Week-ends may have long line-ups for people who want to get to the beach. The spectacular ride takes about 2 hours and costs BF 6.00

However note that inflation is high in Venezuela the prices quoted may not be valid anymore.

There are no direct connexions between Caracas and Choroni.

The first bus to Choroni leaves at five o'clock from Maracay en then they go every hour 10Bs.F. Friday and Saterdaymorning there are a lot of people going to Choroni, they'll go back at Sunday so an other crowdy day.

There are also Choroni Taxis with their office next to the petrol station the price is 80BsF but in the weekends 100Bs an in the evening 150Bs. You can share the taxi with other people then you pay only a quarter of the price

When you're arriving at the airport in the afternoon you'll not be able to reach the busstation in Maracay in time to take a bus to Choroni. (To much traffic these days).
The best way from the airport is to take a "Choroni taxi" direct.
