Any thoughts on similarities/differences between the two trips, which one you liked better, etc? I should point out that I hate hate HATE flying in teensy planes and would like to avoid having to travel in one if at all possible--but am willing to force myself if it's worthwhile. Thanks!

I can only comment on angel falls which is beautiful but I have to say, the only way to get to canaima is in a tiny plane, however this was one of the best bits as the views were amazing! The trip to get to the falls is quite fun and the scenery lovely, also canaima is a lovely base surrounded by waterfalls. Roraima is the place to go if you prefer walking I would say.

Well, it depends as well on how much time you have, and what you like better: waterfalls or mountains. Angel Falls is pretty impressive, and the boat ride up to the fall is beautiful, however I thought that Roraima is more special. There are - to my knowledge - only other table mountains in South Africa, and the flora and fauna on Roraima is unique as it has been isolated for VERY long - I don't remember how many years, but a lot! On the other hand, Roraima is a 6-day-trip, but if you have time, it's definitely worthwhile!
