2 weeks (oct-nov) in Venezuela - rent a car, party, beaches, wild nature???

Great to hear that your exicted about coming to Venezuela! Quiet rightly so ;-). Vzla has some amazing places. Please bear in mind that accommodation can be quite tricky to find in the high season and public holidays, especially at beach destinations such as Margarita, Los Roques,Choroni and Morrocoy among many others. If travelling during the low season then you should have no problems finding accommodation.

Los Llanos is definitely a place to observe and admire the Venezuelan Wildlife. You might just get lucky and see a giant green anaconda.
As for beaches, there are some amazing beaches along the Venezuelan coast but perhaps the most spectacular for some is the Los Roques Archipelago which is certainly home some amazing beaches. Nevertheless, it is pretty expensive to get there. Choroni is also an amazing destination, located in the Henri Pittier National Park, it is close to the cloud forest and some very nice beaches. In the town of El Malecon (next to Choroni) there are a couple of bars that you could check out.
Margarita too has a few clubs and bars you could check out but the place to party hard however is Caracas, even though the city is riddled with crime.

If you want to experience a true jungle expedition why not look into visiting the Angel Falls. If your into trekking Roraima is an excellent choice.

If possible avoid renting a car. It will work out really expensive as we have exchange controls in Venezuela and you would have to pay for car rental with your credit card at the official rate.

Hola and thanks Thomas, Choroni and Henri Pittier is also in my thoughts, but is it possibile to book accommodation in advance via the internet or should we just go there and start looking? Angel Fall is quite far away and expensive, but definitely would like to see :)

Henri Pittier is an amazing place! If you ask me, Choroni and its surroundings are definitely well worth the visit. A wide range of Posadas are located in Choorni, from budget to top notch, but if you want something nice, affordable and well located I suggest you book in advance, which will also give you the option of bringing less cash into the country. Just make sure you get a good rate for your US $. The Falls too are definitely worthwhile seeing. Especially since you'll be here in the rainy season.

trying to find posadas or casas in Choroni area (close to beach, well located), but many internet sites are in Spanish - hard to understand. So if anyone have any suggestions for budget, but nice accommodation for 6 people, feel free to share :) and how much did you paid for airport shuttle to Choroni (I wrote some accommodation places and got the price for 140 euros for 6 people - is it OK?).
