I am travelling to Argentina from Mexico this summer and am wondering if I need a tourist visa to get in, I am an E.U. citizen if this helps. Thanks.

| lizzzylou20:20 UTC13 May 2007 | You will receive a 90 day tourist visa when you enter the country. You will need to renew the visa every 90s (if you want to stay longer) by leaving the country and re-entering. If you dont renew your visa you will have to pay a 50 peso fine.

Well just thought I would add my thoughts on Argentine Immigration laws. After having left Agentina yesterday with an expired tourist visa of over 3 1/2 months, I think it is really funny almost jokingly funny that one only has to pay 50.00 pesos! They said it did not matter if I stayed over 1 day or 1 year it is all the same! They did not even ask me what I was doing here. What do you all think?. I love it!!! God Bless Argentina!.
I am really not sure that I should even mention this but since I have had the experience myself I will admit that I have been illegal. My girlfriend visited me from Canada and I was so involved with her visit that I did not realize that my tourist card had expired until it was too late. I then stayed in Argentina for 5 more months. I left to go to the U.S. and was charged a 50 peso fine. I went to the U.S. for 2 weeks and then returned to Buenos Aires with no problems or questions asked whatsoever.
