Trujillo to Loja, need reliable info on effective routes

Hola,

I need to get from Trujillo to Loja by bus and need some advice. From what I've seen there's two plausible options, one going through Piura to Loja and another along the coast through Tumbes etc then to Loja. I'm basically looking for the fastest option with the least changes of bus. I'm having troubles finding reliable information on the routes across the borders. Regarding buses from Piura to Loja, many say the Loja transporte does that route, but I can't find it on their webpages. Also some mention Chiclayo transporte company does the same route, but can't find anything on their webpages either. Similarly I can't seem to find info about Mancora - Machala... Experiences or info deeply valued, thanks! Or could maybe even Trujillo - Cuenca - Loja be the best option option? Sounds a bit backwards :)...

The easiest route will be to take the direct bus Piura Loja. Small bus companies in South America have no website, or no reliable information on their website, and no online bookings.

Thank you. One reason why I was a bit sceptical to this was that the company does have a website and does not mention this route. But if anyone can confirm they do the route, great. I guess no chance to prebook then, I just cross my fingers on the bus not being full.
