Traveling to Iquitos alone & arriving at nightCountry forums / South America / Peru
I am an 18 year old female and in April I am traveling alone to Iquitos, Peru. My flight gets into Iquitos at just before 10pm at night. I have booked myself a bed at the Flying Dog hostel but my huge concern is about getting there... As I will be alone at night I feel very nervous. If anyone could help me in which way would be the safest to get from Iquitos airport to the flying dog hostel that would be much appreciated as I know nothing about taxis or transport and the safety in Peru. Thank you!
I assume you arrive on a larger plane with more passengers. A good tactic is to talk to other people when waiting for the bags, and see if someone wants to share a taxi. Another tactic would be, asking the hostel if they do pick up guests from the airport, or can advise on a reliable taxi company. | 1
