Southern Pantanal tours

Country forums / South America / Brazil

Hi there, I'm looking to do a tour to the Pantanal from Campo Grande in early March (know it's not the best time of year to do it but no choice), and having a hard time figuring out which tour company will give me a decent experience without costing the earth - so many mixed reviews online! Any recommendations/has anyone used Pantanal Discovery? I've read about Santa Clara being good but am wary of the hassle of organising transport to and from the pousada...Would also prefer to stay in a dorm vs a hammock if possible!
Thanks!!

It sounds like Ecological Expeditions would be a good choice for you. I have to admit, it's been several years since I used them in the Pantanal, but I had a great experience, and they definitely cater to travelers who prefer dormitories. They operate out of Campo Grande and Bonito. They used to have a place near Corumba too, but I'm not sure they still do.

Thanks mstep, much appreciated. Seems there's always mixed reviews as people have different expectations and experiences, but personal recos help a lot!
