Road closures in SW Bolivia due to Dakar Rally this weekend

For those travelling in Bolivia, it looks like the following routes in the south west and around Salar de Uyuni will shut for 72hrs, from 11-13th Jan due to part of the Dakar Rally passing through: Villazón-Tupiza; Tupiza-Atocha; Atocha-Uyuni; Colchani-Salinas de Garcí Mendoza; routes in Llica municipality, San Pedro de Quemes and to Chile border at Abaroa / Ollague. Routes will be opened for visitors to get to spectator areas, and presumably for tourists to get to Tupiza / Uyuni as well. More info in Spanish.

If you are not particularly interested in the Rally and its associated carnage it would be a good idea to be elsewhere in Bolivia for those dates, plenty of options!
