Does anyone know if this recent eruption will affect travel to southern Chile in late July/August? -Chris
It depends on whether it decides to erupt again or not. Not a good time of year weather-wise. | 1
By bus, doubtful, but the Mercurio newspaper in Santiago normally has more details. | 2
Hi to everybody from the Araucania: Chilean Andes ridge is a live mountain spine, which is always ready to express living nature forces by the action of volcanoes activity. Mapuche culture refers to living spirits (Pillan), living under the soil, expressing its angry to the unbalanced human actions by the erupting and trembling. We are just living in an amazing territory cracked down and changed upon thousands of years, this is our tourism atractive too and those visiting the Araucania must deal with such a wonderful experience. So the "Pillans" have the last word to decide when and how they want to express for being respected. | 3
