Quito or Guayaquil?

Hi,

We´re currently in Peru and planning on heading to do a Galapagos Tour in or around the 11th November - we´re hoping to book a last minute tour - we were wondering if it would be better to fly into Quito or Guayaquil? There are just two of us. Any information or advice would be much appreciated!

Fly to Guayaquil for simplicity sake. All flights from Quito to the Galapagos touch down in Guayaquil. But then Quito is a way more interesting city to visit than Guayaquil.

There are usually more people looking for tours to the Galapagos in Quito than Guayaquil, & it is also easier to join up with others &/or find better deals in Quito.

Most of the agencies are in Quito, but if you fly from Guayaquil to the Galapagos Islands you might save like $50, because all flights from Quito first go to Guayaquil, so you can save some airfare.

my flight went direct with no stop in Guayaquil.

There are lots more agencies in Quito or Puerto Ayora than Guayaquil so best to head to either of those.
