Puerto Ayacucho or Rio Caura?

Country forums / South America / Venezuela

Has anybody been there?
I would like to spend 3-4 days in the jungle to see indigenous people and natural beauty.
I was looking a lot and couldn't find any direct information.
I will go there after Roraima, Canaima and delta Orinoco.
Could somebody suggest which place is more interesting and worth going
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
From Puerto Ayacucho you can take different guides (see LP book) for a tour on the Orinoco and to the Autan tepui to visit indians. However it wil be very expensive when you aren't going with a group of 5 or more persons because a permision to go there will cost about 1000bolivaresF. or more. The stories I've heard (here in Choroni) about Rio Caura are spectacular. Althought, I haven't been there (yet) but if you want more information look for Gekkotours on internet. They have posadas along the Caura river.
saludo, Choroni
