I am going to Merida and then to los roques in 2 weeks but heard last friday about this plane crash

It is the airline that we were supposed to take, and I heard that all the flights are now canceled, but I can't get any other information. Does anyone have any information about the flight status? Does anyone know if these small airlines are generally safe?

Did you get any more information? I would like to know this too, as I plan to go to Los Roques next week. I think Transaven only has one plane so it is unlikely they can get you there.

| hariskoko22:53 UTC21 Jan 2008 | i was in los roques this christmas and new year. travelled there with transaven. on the way there i flew with a LET (same plane as that which crashed). I remember seeing at least two of these type of planes at the airport. I dont know though if i travelled with the one that actually crashed...
On the way back to Caracas i flew again with Tranasven but with an even smaller plane... Good luck!
