Peruvian Airlines, Lima to Cusco

Country forums / South America / Peru

Hello LP friends,
I'm looking to book a flight from Lima to Cusco the morning of 27 February. I was wondering what your experiences have been with this airline. It seems that delays are the norm due to weather and such but this airline gets some really bad reviews as far as delays and cancellations go. Although the price is right, I'm more interested in getting to my destination with as little hassle as possible. I'm looking to book an 8AM flight so as to have a full day, but not too early because, you know, it's vacation. If earlier is the better option I will do so.
Your thoughts and advice are much appreciated.
Thanks!

My experience with LC was good. We had a flight from Cusco to Lima, about a month ago. They first announced a delay, but the flight departed on time. They have small planes, a bit old. Our flight was pleasant, the crew friendly.
I would book a flight with them again, but only when they have good offers.

Thank you for the insight! They are comparable price wise.

Hi,
I am Peruvian and I only travel with Latam. My dad has travel with Peruvian Airlines a few times and he didn't like them, at all, and he's a really low maintenance traveller, I am kinda picky, so Latam works perfect for me.

Best,

I do agree that LATAM is the best choice if you get the lowest rate (for locals). As I'm European, LATAM charges almost the double of what Peruvians pay, that makes it very expensive. I somehow assumed you are a foreign traveller in Peru. :)
Peruvian airlines does not have a tax for foreigners. So, for me Peruvian is better.

But if there's the choice between LATAM and Peruvian airlines, I would definately choose LATAM.

Man, I didn't know about it was almost double, that's a shame! My American friend came to visit his Peruvian girlfriend and he only used LATAM and he said the prices were ok, that's why I keep recommending them.

Yes, but I can understand. Most foreigners (not all) could pay the price. It's actually a nice thing that they take into account the economic situation of many Peruvians. And, I think the price difference is only for flights in Peru.
I had good experiences with Latam. :)

Hey thanks again to both of you. We are traveling from the US and will actually take LATAM from NY to Lima. The price difference is about 50$US each for the Lima to Cusco flight. Not enough to break the bank but with the shortish flight was curious about the other carriers and we'll be taking other other flights during our travels as well.
