Left luggage from Cuzco to Ollantaytambo

Country forums / South America / Peru

My guy and I are leaving for Peru May 26 for ten days and we were planning on working our way up to Aguas Calientes via Pisco, Urubambo and Ollantaytambo, taking the train at the end of the day to A.C. Our original plan was to take a combination of taxis and buses. However, we just realized that we're not sure what to do with our luggage in the towns. Since we aren't trekking and camping, we weren't going to bring backpacks and were going to do the ubiquitous black wheely-bags.

1) Is this plan feasible or should we cut out Urubambo? Will we make a train to A.C. this way? If it's too much, should we just do Pisco as a day trip and skip Urubambo and Ollantaytambo?
2) Are there safe left-luggage places in Pisco, Urubambo and Ollantaytambo?
3) What about safety of luggage on buses?

We did the trip 2 years ago took local bus from Cusco to Pisac (not Pisco) left our packs at a cafe we had breakfast in and climbed up to ruins at the top of the hill (stiff climb). Took another bus (there are lots of them) to Urubambo changing bus to Ollantaytambo. You will have to spend 1 night in Ollantaytambo as you have to buy the backpacker train tickets the day before, but its worth spending time in Ollantaytambo for the runis and have a look at the old town.We had no problems with our luggage
Have a good trip.
